Tips from public help put drug dealers in jail

LA CROSSE- Wis. (WXOW)- Police say they understand that some people may be afraid to report suspicious activity but there is a way they can do it anonymously. Its tips from the public often help police put drug dealers in jail according to one of those involved in Wednesday's arrests.

Tom Johnson, drug unit investigative coordinator, stated "Many times we look at this situation as a puzzle and when people think 'Maybe I shouldn't call in and bother the police', that's not necessarily true because they might have that one little piece of the puzzle for what we need to put the whole picture together."

Police say they will have more information in the upcoming days including names and pictures of those arrested in a drug bust last night.  Since the investigation is ongoing, investigators say releasing any other information would jeopardize the case.
