LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - If you're a landlord, you need to keep up with the ever-changing landlord tenant laws and practices.
The La Crosse County Health Department leant a hand Saturday, teaching landlords about building codes and policies they can adapt.
The County Health Department says only about a quarter of rentals are smoke-free, but there is a growing trend.
Three-Sixty Real Estate is leading that trend. They currently have more than 300 apartments that they rent, and starting June 1st half of those units will be smoke-free.
Those soon to be smoke-free units are located within one mile of the local Universities.
The County Health Department thinks its a step in the right direction.
