LA CROSSE- Wis. (WXOW)- Students from La Crosse Logan, Central and LaCrossroads High Schools got a reality check today as they participated in the annual "Reality Store" held at Logan High School.
Students selected an occupation, practiced checkbook balancing and writing skills, and prepared an annual budget. Students visited booths and vendors that require them to pay the bills of daily living. Several area businesses and community organizations have sponsored the booths and assisted in making choices about housing, transportation, insurance, daycare and other living expenses.
Annette O' Hern, Supervisor of Career and Choice Education for the School District of La Crosse, stated "The Reality Store is an interactive financial education program for students designed to demonstrate the need for money management skills."
