Houston Public School District seeks permanent Superintendent


HOUSTON, Minn. (WXOW) - The Houston Public School District is currently taking applications for a permanent superintendent position for at least the 2014-2015 school year.

Dr. Charles Rick is currently serving as interim-Superintendent in the Houston school district. Rick replaced Eric Bartleson in November, who left after a family illness.

Rick, a former superintendent in St. Louis County (Minn.), has yet to formerly apply for the position, bu he will "likely apply" for the permanent position, according to one source.

The district superintendent search committee is hoping to hire a permanent superintendent before the end of the 2014 school year and have a new superintendent hired by June.

The district will accept applications no later than Saturday, March 15. Interested applicants must address applications to:
