MADISON, Wis. (WXOW) -------- Cochrane-Fountain City's dream season came to end Thursday night in the State Semifinals, losing to Thorp 54-52.
The Pirates, who were making their first ever state appearance had a shot to win the game in the closing seconds, but Cale Lisowski's halfcourt attempt hit the rim.
"When I put it up, I honestly thought we were going to have another miracle," said Lisowski, whose team won its sectional semifinal on a last-second basket. "A little to the left, and it would have gone in."
Late in the 4th quarter, C-FC used a 12-0 run capped by a Jordan Eikamp three pointer to pull within one point, but the Pirates would not get any closer.
C-FC finishes the season with a 20-8 record.
