Gundersen's Sparta Clinic reopens after water damage

SPARTA, Wis. (WXOW) - Gundersen Health System's Sparta clinic is open again after snow melt damages the facility.

One week ago, runoff from melting snow backed up into the clinic from a frozen drain pipe and damaged the lobby, nurse's station, and several medical staff offices.  Six exam rooms also had damage from the water.  It forced the clinic to close which meant patients had to go to other facilities for their appointments and treatments.

A Gundersen Health System release said construction crews worked last week and through the weekend to repair the damage.

“We are very grateful to all the people who spent their weekend cleaning up the clinic so we can start seeing patients in our Sparta Clinic on Tuesday,” comments David Campbell, Gundersen Sparta Clinic manager. “We appreciate the support from our patients and the community over the past week and we look forward to seeing our patients closer to home in Sparta beginning on Tuesday.”

Campbell said that although the clinic is open, additional repairs to the lobby and six exam rooms are ongoing.
