LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) Oscar Peterslie passed away Monday, March 17. If you did not know him, you may know of him.
Since 1994, you could find Oscar at The Pearl Ice Cream Parlor in La Crosse. Here's how that job began. Oscar's son TJ and TJ's wife Michelle opened the Pearl in 1993. One February day, Oscar stopped by to find The Pearl closed. TJ told him it was closed because it was February. Oscar said you can't make money if you're not open. That's when Oscar went to work.
Last September, you may have seen Oscar on The Pearl float in the Oktoberfest Parade. That float, built by TJ, won first place in the business category.
A service for Oscar is set for Saturday, March 22 at 10 AM at Good Shepard Lutheran Church in La Crosse. You can visit with the family at the church Friday, March 21 from 4 until 7 PM and an hour before the service Saturday. Oscar Peterslie was 92 years old.
