UW-L Gymnastics Team Looking To Soar To Title

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) ------ The Eagles are looking to soar back to the top of the D-3 gymnastics world.

After winning the WIAC title two weeks ago, UW- La Crosse returns to the NCGA Championships in Ithaca, New York looking to claim their first crown in two seasons.

After winning 9 of 10 championships from 2002 to 2011, La Crosse has had to settle for runners up finishes in each of the last two seasons and sitting 2nd on the podium hasn't set well with the Eagles, "This group especially has been hungry to return to the top I think that was evidenced at conference, the never give up attitude they showed on balance beam and certainly it's been part of the motivation," says Head Coach Barbara Gibson.

"Physically were all there we have been there for a month now, it's just mentally knowing we are more than capable of getting over a 190 for this team it's what we have been working for and were really excited to put it all together and show what we got," says Junior Kelsi Vomacka.
