MILWAUKEE (WXOW) -- Ben Brust scored 17 points and Wisconsin quickly pulled away from American University in the second half, posting a 75-35 win Thursday before a pro-Badger crowd in Milwaukee.
The Badgers(27-7) went on a 22-5 run to close the first half, recovering from a brief seven-point deficit and eliminate the 15th-seeded Eagles (20-13).
Wisconsin shot 57% from the field in the second half and moves on to the second round of the NCAA tournament to face the winner of Thursday's Oregon-BYU matchup. The Badgers were ousted in the first round last year as a five seed.
