Mayo Clinic Health System dedicates Franke Conference Suite

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) -A ceremony Friday honored the work of a local couple. Robert and Eleanor Franke have donated more than $2 million dollars to the Mayo Clinic Health System.

On Friday, the hospital dedicated the Franke Conference Suite designed for board meetings, among other events.

The Frankes were active with Franciscan Healthcare during their lives. Bob passed away in 2009, Eleanor in 2001.

Peter Grabow, Foundation Executive Director, says "Robert and Eleanor Franke were very generous supporters of our organization and our entire community so we're grateful to honor them and recognize them in this way."

Dr. Timothy Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare, said "They were intelligent, fine people. They led a humble life, and were a great witness and demonstration.  Two caring and compassionate people."

The suite keeps true to the Franciscan faith with a stained glass picture of St. Francis.
