Man injured in Tomah crash

TOMAH, Wis. (WXOW) - A Tomah man receives serious injuries in a two-car crash Saturday morning.

Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Sergeant Ronald Rader said in a release that the crash happened at 9:23 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 131 and Highland Avenue just south of the I-90 exit outside of Tomah.

According to the release, a  car driven by 55-year-old Jon Wagner was headed west on Highland Avenue when he failed to yield at a stop sign and crossed into the path of a southbound car driven by 28-year-old Bret Martyniuk of Tomah.

The crash forced Martyniuk's car onto its side in a ditch.

The report said that he received non-life threatening injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.

Wagner, who the report said was not wearing his seatbelt, had serious injuries from the collision.  He was taken by ambulance to Tomah Memorial Hospital.

The crash closed part of Highway 131 for several hours.
