Library Task Forces working to save South Community Library

La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - There is a push to save the South Community Library from closing down.

Due to needed budget cuts for the city, shutting down the library could help solve the problem.

Task Force Chairwoman Andrea Richmond said they're working to provide a proposal in the next three months. "We will have fundraisers, we will ask for donations, and we'll do everything if need be. I don't see any chance of ever closing this library," Richmond said.

If you'd like to ask questions or learn more about the South Community Library, the Task Force is sponsoring a public meeting on April 15th at 7:00 p.m. inside the conference room at the La Crosse Public Library.

"If you're learning how to read, adults, all the generations are involved with learning, communicating and growing, so it's important. No matter if it's the new generation or the old generation, it's important," Richmond said.
