LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - A sign of spring-Rudy’s Drive-in reopens to the public for another season.
After 81 years, Rudy’s Drive-in remains under family ownership.
The current owner, Gary Rudy, is a third generation owner of the restaurant.
Although Rudy’s Drive-in is most famously known for its 1950’s inspired roller skate waitresses and root beer, Rudy says the business is expanding its menu towards healthier options.
There are eight meals and desserts listed on the menu a part of the Gundersen Lutheran 500 Club.
These options include unique entrees such as turkey, walnut, and buffalo burgers.
Rudy’s Drive-in also hosts special events such as Bike Nights and Cruise Nights where motorcycles and classic cars may be showcased.
Cruise Nights are every Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Bike Nights are held once a month.
Rudy’s Drive-in also opened its Sparta location. Both drive-ins are open everyday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. through the middle of October, weather permitting.
