Sparta students advance to international conference in Georgia

SPARTA, Wis. (WXOW) - Six Sparta High School students will compete in May at the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, GA. 

Logan Fletcher, Colin Laufenberg, Bill Huber, Trenton Thompson, Madi Blaha, and Jackie Page qualified at the State DECA Career Development Conference in Lake Geneva.

There were 10 Sparta DECA members that competed. Jackie Page and Madi Blaha took third place in the Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making. They received a $100 scholarship to help travel to Atlanta. 

Bill Huber, Colin Laufenberg and Trenton Thompson took sixth place in the Entrepreneur Written Manual Event. 

Logan Fletcher wrote the School Based Enterprise Manual that received Gold Standards. He will present in the SBE Academy in Atlanta. 

The Sparta DECA Chapter also received Gold Chapter along with the Diamond Chapter recognition, 100 hours of community service, Acts of Kindness and Charitable Contribution for the SACS Week project.
