CINCINNATI, Ohio (WXOW) The Badgers hockey team is in Cincinnati preparing for their regional semifinal game with North Dakota Friday.
The Badgers won the Big Ten Conference Tournament to earn the top seed in the Midwest Region. But now comes former WCHA rival North Dakota, a program they've had many heated battles with over the years.
"It's funny that we have this first year of the Big Ten conference and the first time in many years that we're not scheduled to meet each other, it's almost as if the hockey gods made sure it would happen this year that we were going to play them. Obviously, we're huge rivals. They're very similar to us. They're hard to go up against. They have depth at all positions and it will be a fun one," said Badgers junior defenseman Jake McCabe.
Wisconsin and North Dakota will meet at 7pm Friday.
