Teen seriously injured in Monroe County crash

SPARTA, Wis. (WXOW) - A 17-year-old girl receives possible life-threatening injuries in a one car crash northeast of Tomah Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened at 5:23 p.m. on County Highway G near Eureka Road in the Town of Byron.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department said that 17-year-old Brandy Shaw was injured when the driver of the vehicle she was in lost control, went off the road, and hit a tree.

She was taken to Tomah Memorial Hospital then later flown to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. 

The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Ronald Jones, also went to Tomah Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Another passenger, 20-year-old Elizabeth Shaw, had minor injuries, but did not go to the hospital for treatment.
