Westby native feels Final Four excitement

MADISON, Wis. (WXOW) - A Westby native is getting a feel for what it's like to be in the Final Four.

Alexis Dunnum is a Freshman at the UW-Madison. She graduated from Westby High School last year.

She used to play the saxophone, but learned to play the trumpet over the summer and now plays for the UW Marching Band.

Only about 30 Seniors from the band got to travel with the team for the tournament, so Sunday's homecoming for the team was Alexis' first time getting to celebrate their victory.

Alexis says, "With all the effort that the team has put in this year it's just really exciting to see them advance on and we've been there since the beginning too so it's like a little reward for us."

Alexis' parents, Craig and Vickie Dunnum, were at Sunday's homecoming too. They were, of course, supporting their daughter,  but they are also big Badgers fans.

Coulee Region fans will show their Wisconsin pride as the Badgers will face off with the Kentucky Wildcats Saturday in Texas.
