Gov. Walker approves $3 million upgrade to La Crosse Airport

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – The La Crosse Regional Airport is getting a $3.35 million upgrade.

Governor Scott Walker approved the million dollar design and construction project Monday.

The money will go toward renovations to the terminal building and additional safety improvements at the airport.

Airport Development Engineer for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Wendy Hottenstein said repairs also need to be made to the airport's primary runway pavement.

The project is expected to be completed by June 2014.

Funding Breakdown:
State = $424,000
City of La Crosse = $424,000
Federal Aviation Administration = $2,502,000
