Ryan puts trip to Final Four in perspective

Posted:
MADISON, Wis. (WXOW) Some had labeled Bo Ryan has the best coach to never make it to the Final Four.

That was before last Saturday's win over Arizona.

Chances are the label never bothered Ryan considering he'd been to several final fours at UW-Platteville. Even though it was in division three you know they mean just as much to him.

The Badgers practiced for the final time Tuesday at the Kohl Center before departing for Dallas Wednesday.

Even though there's still work to be done, Ryan has grown to appreciate how tough it is to get this far. "It's the 3rd two-game tournament that you have to win. Having been through it on the division 3 level I'm very proud of those teams, it was the same process. You had to survive and advance. I'm happy for all the people who have a chance to say 'Hey, we're in the Final 4.' We'll see what we can do. But it certainly has caught the attention of the people of Wisconsin and rightfully so. For the excitement to be be where it is now in college basketball's biggest showcase, we're extremely proud to be a part of it," Ryan said in an interview with the Badgers Head Coach Tuesday.

Wisconsin and Kentucky will tip off at 7:49p.m. Saturday in the 2nd national semifinal.
