La Crosse Symphony Orchestra's Conductor Wannabe Contest produces record breaking results

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The La Crosse Symphony Orchestra announced winners of their 21st Annual Conductor Wannabe Contest.

The first place winner is Bill Lanzel who raised a record breaking $22,418. In second place, Father Robert Cook raised a $11,091. In total, Lanzel, Father Cook and three other contestants raised a record breaking $49,150.

The symphony created the Wannabe contest to support their growth.

"Everybody was supportive. They know it's for a good cause and all that stuff so you know i get some of the credit but it aint me, it's all those other people that donated that's the coolest part," said winner Bill Lanzel.

Lanzel and Father Cook will conduct a piece at the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra concert Saturday, April 5th.
