Hayes steps down as West Salem boys basketball coach

WEST SALEM, Wisconsin (WXOW)  The West Salem boys basketball program will need a new head coach.
Chad Hayes is stepping down.
In a story first reported by wissports.net, Hayes told News 19 Sports that he handed in his resignation on Friday.
Hayes said there's no specific reason why he's stepping down, only that he's ready to do something different.
Hayes told News 19 that the administration and the players families were very supportive during his 4 years as head coach for the Panthers.
West Salem was 46-50 during his 4-year run, including a 16-8 record this past season.
West Salem H.S. Activities Director Leroy Krall said the school will begin a search as soon as the school board approves Hayes' resignation.
