Marty Seifert running for Governor in Minnesota

CALEDONIA, Minn. (WXOW) - Candidate for Minnesota governor Marty Seifert made a stop in Caledonia on Thursday.

The republican says he is spending the next week touring communities throughout Minnesota to listen to people's concerns.
Seifert says he is spending most of his time listening rather than talking during his visits around different communities.

"Concerns about a lot of things.  We hear everything from education to health care to agriculture to transportation. So the governor has a lot of say in a lot of issues and a lot of it has to do with listening as it does talking," says Siefert.

The  Minnesota Gubernatorial election will be held on November 4th.

Incumbent DFL governor Mark Dayton is running for re-election for a second term in office but he has a new running mate.  Tina Smith who is his Chief of Staff. She's replacing current Lieutenant Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon on the ballot.
