Winona teenagers injured in serious crash


WINONA, Minn. (WXOW) -- A Winona teen is seriously injured in a two car crash Thursday evening in Winona.

The  16-year-old girl was involved in a broadside crash  just after 6:00 p.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol, at the intersection of Highway 61/14 and Orrin Street.

A Chevy truck on Highway 61 hit the passenger side of a blue Saturn Ion as it pulled onto 61 from Orrin Street.

There were three Winona girls in the Ion. 16-year-old Kaitlin Ingle was a passenger. She was taken to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse with serious injuries.

The driver and other passenger of the Ion, 17-year-olds Carissa Drackley and Abbe Partington were taken to Winona Health with non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, 26-year-old Aaron Walters from California had no apparent injuries.
