La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Members of the Norskedalen Nature and Heritage Center celebrated the culture of the La Crosse area today at their annual Award and Fundraising Celebration.
Each year the group honors one exemplary member.
Today James Warner received that honor.
Warner was a board member and donor who left more than $200,000 to the Norskedalen’s Donor Restricted Endowment Fund.
Bob Swartz, friend of Warner says,”Not only was it important to Norskedalen for Jim’s ongoing long term commitment, but for me personally. It changed my life."
Warner died in 2011 from injuries suffered in a serious car crash.
A bristle cone pine tree, one of Warner’s favorite, will be planted at Norskedalen in his memory.
