LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – If you were looking for a local restaurant or bar to sit down and watch the Final Four game between the Kentucky Wildcats and the Wisconsin Badgers, fans learned to get there early.
Badger basketball fans were filling establishments, like Howie’s on La Crosse Street, as early as 2:00 on Saturday afternoon – hours prior to tipoff.
Staff members said customers filled all their tables by 4:00. “All day today, we’ve had people in. Whether or not they stayed for the game, lunch was still really busy. There is just a lot of people here in red and it basically makes the whole day go quicker and it’s very exciting,” Howie’s Owner Michael Gorder said.
Gorder said business booms when it comes to Wisconsin sports. Gorder said he expects business to die down a bit once the Badgers season is over.
