Communities ask residents to turn off water

Posted:
CASHTON, Wis. (WXOW) - Several area communities are letting residents know they can stop running a trickle of water.

Due to the deep frost from this past winter, a number of municipalities asked residents to run a small stream of water in order to help keep their pipes and water mains from freezing.

Now that warmer weather has finally arrived, people can turn off the taps.

The Villages of Cashton and Melvina both issued the request on Monday.  The Trempealeau Municipal Water Utility also lifted their order.
