UW-L Child Care Center celebrates Week of the Young Child

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - A 4-year-old girl received recognition Monday as part of National Week of the Young Child.

The Great Rivers Association for the Education of Young Children held a drawing competition for children to draw a T-Shirt design for this week's events.

Out of 45 entries, 4 year old Ever Grabhorn's design was selected as the winner.
Ever received a T-Shirt with her winning design and a $50 gift basket for her teacher, Cindy Selin's classroom.
The Week of the Young Child is an opportunity for local early childhood programs and those across the country to raise  awareness of the needs of young children.

"Ever is a great artist, she loves to color, she's always drawing bright colorful kids and I love all the little hair she puts on people and she takes her time and she shares her artwork with a lot of people so I was really thrilled when it was ever that won on this contest," says Selin.

Along with Ever's design., the second place winner was Traxton Thurow from Sparta and third place went to Mira Vianden from La Crosse.
