Holmen outlasts Onalaska in a slugfest

ONALASKA, Wisconsin (WXOW)  The Holmen baseball team survived a battle with rival Onalaska Thursday, winning 11-9 at the Riders Club Field.
Onalaska led 4-1 at one point but a 5 run 5th inning gave the Vikings a 9-4 lead.
It was a lead they would never relinquish, even though the Hilltoppers scored 5 runs in the 6th to make it a one run game.
Jeren Kendall went 2 for 3 and Griffen Johnson went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI's to lead Holmen.
Alex Teal had two hits for Onalaska and Jack Smalley drove in three runs.
Holmen goes to 2-0 in the MVC.
Onalaska is 1-1 in the MVC.
