The event raises money for Children's Miracle Network for kids like 10-year-old Emily Martell who lives with Type One Diabetes.
Thanks to CMN, Emily has attended a summer camp for the past two years where the campers are kids just like Emily, and they get to do things like canoe and horseback ride.
Emily's mom, Roxanne said events like the Firehouse 5K run/walk help them get through the tough times.
She said, "You never think it's going to happen to you and when it does you're very grateful that they're willing to help you in so many different ways that you never thought were possible."
Almost 300 runners participated in the Firehouse 5K, including the News19 Daybreak crew. News19 is a proud sponsor of the Onalaska Firehouse 5K.
