Why Favre reunion with Packers didn't happen last season
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WXOW) - A Packers reunion with Brett Favre fell short of becoming a reality last year, Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy said Tuesday, according to ESPN.com.
Turns out the high school football Favre helped coach just kept winning, which prevented the event from happening.
“We wanted to have him come back to a game last year, and his team kept winning and winning, so it kind of made it tough to find a time where it worked,” Murphy said before boarding a bus to being the team's annual Tailgate Tour.
ESPN reports Favre is not returning to his role as offensive coordinator at Oak Grove High School. Murphy says the team has constant communication with the former quarterback.
