Beach Boys playing Ashley for the Arts festival

ARCADIA, Wis. (WXOW) - The Beach Boys are playing in Arcadia this summer.

Ashley for the Arts will host The Beach Boys, led by founding member Mike Love, and Ingrid Michaelson at their Art & Music Festival to raise money for various charities.

The admission into the festival is $5 and runs from August 8th through the 9th at Memorial Park in Arcadia.

The Beach Boys’ will perform on Friday and Ingrid Michaelson on Saturday.

Ashley for the Arts will also feature musical performances by Cloud Cult, American Young, Johnny Holm Band, John McCutcheon, “Alacranes Musical”, The Memories, The Riverbenders, Big River Radio Wave, Anna Johnson Band, Roamin’ California, Russell Lachney Band, The Mondays, Chicos Kumbia and Herederos de Oaxaca.

There will also be performances by local schools including Arcadia, Whitehall, G-E-T, Blair-Taylor, and Independence. For their participation, each school receives a donation.

Friday night will also feature the “Pursuit of a Cure” 5K run/walk to benefit the American Cancer Society and local organizations that provide assistance to patients who struggle paying for cancer treatments.

Ashley for the Arts serves as a platform for various other charities such as “Ashley’s Angels”, Communities Off n’ Funning, and the Arcadia Lions and Lioness Clubs.

“Ashley Angels” will be fundraising to provide food, clothing, blankets, and special gift requests to children in need at Christmas.

Communities Off n’ Funning will provide an obstacle course for children promoting active lifestyles in the community.

The Arcadia Lions and Lioness Clubs are serving food to fundraise as well.

Todd Wanek, Ashley co-owner, says, “I’m humbled by the amount of interest in this initiative and am extremely pleased to see that it is being embraced by our communities and schools. I’m also proud of the work of the volunteers involved in this event. They do a world of good.”
