Riverside North Development Update

La Crosse, WI (WXOW) - City officials hosted another public meeting to get ideas and answer questions about the upcoming Charrette. A charrette is a period of intense planning and designing involving the community in order to come to a solution for a project.

The project is for the 65 acres of land just north of Historic Downtown La Crosse, known as Riverside North. Today's meeting covered possible issues with the area. Flooding being one of the main concerns due to being right on the riverfront. Other issues involve over 40 rare and threatened species of wildlife living in that area.

Charrette Week will be from May 14th to the 20th, with the first public meeting being on the 14th at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts. There will be guided tours of the area during that week from 4-7pm.
