Students learn about being friendly to the environment

Posted:
HOLMEN, Wis. (WXOW) - As part of Earth Week, students at Prairie View Elementary in Holmen find out ways to be good to the environment.

One of the lessons involved papermaking art to help understand recycling.

They took recycled paper, turned it into pulp, then created a piece of artwork with the theme of reusing and recycling.

Amy Wink, Art Teacher at the school, said, "We learn how to take care of the things in the earth like recycling or how to take care of the environment, how to take care of the wildlife.  There are just so many topics. Every year it's different. We try to keep it fun."

This was the fifth year for the projects.
