TOMAH, Wis. (WXOW) - Repairs to a railroad crossing on the main street through Tomah prompts detours for the week of May 12.
The Canadian Pacific Railway is working on the crossing on Superior Avenue at East and West Washington Streets.
Traffic will be detoured starting Monday, May 12 until Friday, May 16.
The Tomah Public Works Department said that there are two detours planned, one for local traffic, called an interior detour, and another called the outside truck detour.
The department said the interior detour will route Superior Avenue traffic onto Arthur, Glendale, and Jackson streets, similar to the route used for the Holiday Train. This entire area will be posted no parking starting Friday, May 9, and will remain the same throughout the project.
The outside truck detour plans to route trucks onto East Vets, Forbes/Industrial Ave, Townline, Sime, and back to Hwy 12/16.
