Viterbo wins MCC without playing

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW)  The Viterbo baseball team won the MCC title Wednesday without taking the field.

For a second straight day their doubleheader with AIB was canceled because of the rain.

The two schools tried for two days to find a playable field in La Crosse but couldn't. That means the regular season ends with the V-Hawks at 15-7 in conference play.

That's .015 percentage points better than St. Ambrose, which finished 16-8 in the MCC.

Viterbo will now hold the #1 seed in the conference tournament, which starts Saturday in Waterloo.
It's Viterbo's first conference title in baseball since 1991.
