Dettwiler taps into local talent for 2014 recruiting class

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The next wave of UW-La Crosse football stars will include some big time players locally.

Eagles head coach Joel Dettwiler released his list of recruits to News 19 Sports and there are many familiar names.
Among them is Logan's Raekwon Tillman, who was an All-MVC 1st team running back selection. Holmen's Noah Risch is a two-way player who played fullback and linebacker. Black River Falls quarterback Ethan Young has committed to UW-L too. Young led those high octane offenses for the Tigers over the last couple of seasons.

Teammate Jacob Gerzik along with De Soto's Tanner Helgeson and Central's Max Hether are some of the local stars Coach Dettwiler is anxious to see. "Our group fo local kids is something we're very excited for.  It's the best group of local kids that we've had since we've been here.  When I look at the different kids we got, they're going to be guys that make us better pretty quickly," Dettwiler said.

The Eagles are wrapping up their spring practice this week.
