LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Although Oktoberfest is still five months away, there was preview on Thursday of things to come.
This year's winning Oktoberfest button design was unveiled. Alex Pichette of Green Bay designed the button.“I've always loved La Crosse, it’s a beautiful city. I have great friends there. So when I saw an opportunity to creatively express and represent the city and the Oktoberfest celebration, I couldn't turn that down,” said Pichette.
The design features the word Munich, celebrating the festival's German roots, along with the Mississippi River and Grandad Bluff.
Oktoberfest organizers also gave a few details of the four day fest for 2014.
Events begin on Thursday, September 25 with the Torchlight Parade and continues through Sunday, September 28.
