Nurses honored at Franciscan Healthcare, Mayo Clinic Health System

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)—Franciscan Healthcare, Mayo Clinic Health System, honors nurses for their above and beyond efforts.

A dozen nurses from the clinic received the DAISY Awards for Extraordinary Nurses.

This is a national recognition program is designed to honor the considerable work that nurses do for patients and families everyday.

One of the recipients and nurse of 34 years, Joy Erb-Moser, was nominated by her director through a patient that was faced with the difficult decision of organ donation.

Joy’s support made all the difference to the patient and their family; the patient went on to become a live donor.

Joy says, “Through the DAISY award, it is truly my foundation as a nurse that some family recognized what I was doing. I look at is as God's work.”

There are more than 900 nurses within the ten local Mayo Clinic Health System facilities.
