Local authors showcase work

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Local and regional writers got together Saturday to showcase their work.  It was the first ever Authors Showcase hosted by the Wisconsin Writers Association.

About 20 authors took part in Saturday's showcase to promote their books and meet other authors and fans.

Winona-based author and publisher Terri Karsten shared her three published books, one of which is a how-to book on how to build a brick oven in your backyard.

Karsten started her own publishing company and considers herself a do-it-yourself kind of person. She built her own backyard brick oven to make her own bread too.

Karsten's books are available in both Pearl Street Books in La Crosse and The Book Shelf in Winona.
