Remembering John Jack Nockels

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW)  Mister Nockels.  To this day, that's how many students refer to former Aquinas High School teacher and coach, John Jack Nockels.  Nockels passed away April 30.

Nockels leaves quite a legacy.  After graduating from the UW-La Crosse, he came to work at Aquinas in 1962.  He taught and coached more than 30 years.  His friend and former head football coach Dave Reinders says in that time, Nockels touched a lot of lives.

Nockels was inducted in the Wisconsin Football Coaches hall of fame in 1996.  He's also a member of the Aquinas Wall of Fame.  Reinders says Nockels will be remembered for a long, long time.  Nockels was 75 years old.  You can listen to more of Reinders' comments by watching the attached story.
