LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The Shrine Circus is back in La Crosse.
Animals, games and music filled the La Crosse Center for the event.
At the pre-show, kids got a chance to ride the elephants, ponies, and even got to take a picture with a snake.
In response to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus accident in Providence, Rhode Island Sunday, Shrine Circus employees said they go through rigorous preparations to make sure their set is safe.
"We come in early; we always test everything," said Lenny Hoops, Shrine Circus Host/MC. "We double check it. The prop crew, they double check everything. They test it. Test after test. Back-up after back-up. So we have no problems in this circus."
The circus will have another performance Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
