LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – La Crosse County plans to move quickly on the redevelopment of Lot C said Administrative Center and Downtown Campus Study Committee Chair Joe Veenstra.
Lot C is the La Crosse County courthouse parking lot.
Veenstra said they reached out to several firms about potentially building on the lot. Three have responded.
Veenstra said on Wednesday night, the committee will finalize details on what they want to see implemented in the new development. The county will then send a proposal request to the three firms. Veenstra said the committee plans to hear back from the firms within a month regarding their proposals.
In previous meetings, the county has discussed ideas on what they want to see developed on Lot C. They include a space that will support improvements to make downtown a destination and a development that will preserve the history of La Crosse. Veenstra said parking is also a critical element.
Tonight's meeting is at 5:00 p.m.
We will have an update on this story following the meeting.
