Texas teen catches his own 40-yard pass

MANVEL, Texas (WXOW) - A Texas high school football player has become an internet sensation, after a video of him apparently throwing and then catching his own 40-yard pass was posted on Vine on Sunday.

Gary Haynes, a student at Manvel High School near Houston, was playing with his friends in the backyard when the video was made.

Haynes' football coach Kirk Martin says he wanted to see it with his own eyes before the player went on the media circuit.

So he shot his own video of Haynes throwing and catching his own pass on Tuesday.

Martin says that wind conditions made for a pass of about 30 yards, but says he believes Haynes is capable of the roughly 40 yards shown in the video.

Haynes was not present for football practice Wednesday, as he had media appearances in New York.
