LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – The La Crosse Hotel Group received approval today for an exception for downtown fire limits for a possible future Hampton Inn and Suites.
Representatives from the private group met with the City’s Board of Building and Housing Appeals to propose designing the hotel’s entire base with masonry and metal.
The group also presented safety measures which they plan to include at the potential new hotel, such as an indoor and outdoor sprinkler system, roof access, and a 24-7 fire alarm system.
The Hotel Group will seek final approval from the La Crosse Common Council on Thursday evening. If the project is approved, the group said they hope to start construction on the corner of 2nd Street and Vine Street as early as July 1st.
