LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – La Crosse Police are cracking down on drunk driving thanks to a grant from the Department of Transportation.
The grant will allow the city to put extra officers on the roads and streets.
La Crosse Police will have increased patrols for OWI enforcement this weekend between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Police said two extra officers will be on duty during that time.
The department stated they'll have extra patrols for drunk driving four to five times a month for the next 12 months to help reduce alcohol impaired driving and improve on traffic safety in the City of La Crosse.
The grant awarded to the La Crosse Police department was for $25,000.
