Aquinas schools receive $12,000 check from Mardi Gras
LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - On Friday, La Crosse Aquinas Schools received a check for $12,000 from the La Crosse Mardi Gras fundraiser's.
Rex Mark Hansen and his Queen, Debbie, along with other Mardi Gras participants were on hand. The money comes from the Mardi Gras fundraiser's and events last fall.
"It's really important because we try to make it affordable for all our students to go to Catholic schools and it really is important that through the public raising private money to fund some of these technology items that we have," says Rex Mark Hansen.
$6,000 of that money will be distributed for technology upgrades for Aquinas elementary schools, while another $4,000 is for Aquinas middle school scholarships and $2,000 is earmarked for Aquinas' Campbell Theater renovation.
