ONALASKA, Wis.(WXOW) - A fire closed down State Road 35 in Onalaska for more than two hours Sunday night.

It happened around 7:50 p.m. when a car at a home near Cloverdale Road started on fire and spread to the garage, according to Onalaska firefighters.

The fire did not spread to the home, but firefighters said both the car and garage are completely destroyed. No one was injured.

Since the fire happened in an area with no hydrants, the department had to bring in water put out the flames.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation closed down State Road at County OT while crews investigated. The road reopened around 10:15 p.m.
