Eagles lose heartbreaker in NCAA opener

WHITEWATER, Wisconsin (WXOW)  UW-La Crosse lost it's opening round game at the NCAA Division III Regionals 3-1 to Concordia-Chicago Wednesday.
Cougars pitcher Dan Kluss handcuffed Eagles batters, holding them to just one run and five hits while going the distance.
The Eagles scored their only run in the 3rd on a Bryce Barsness single that scored Taylor Kohlwey.
But the Cougars re-took the lead in the bottom of the third.
UW-L had the bases loaded and two outs in the 9th inning but Kohlwey grounded out to second base to end the game.
The Eagles will play WIAC rival UW-Whitewater Thursday afternoon at 3pm in this double-elimination tournament.
