COPY-Trout Days fishing contests underway Saturday and Sunday in Preston
PRESTON, Minn. (KTTC) -- For the 28th year, trout fishermen are wading into the rivers and creeks around Preston with an eye on a prize as people celebrate Preston Trout Days. The Trout Days Fishing Contest runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and people are encouraged to work their favorite fishing hole. It costs $10 to enter but cash and prizes will be rewarded at the end of the day. There's also a kids fishing contest.
The National Trout Center is giving everyone a second shot at glory on Sunday with the "Last Chance Fishing Contest" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It features Preston's 9-hole fishing course on the Root River and teams of two are encouraged. Teams will get 20 minutes to fish their assigned hole and then will have 10 minutes to move to the next one. Prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m.
For more information on either contest, stop by the National Trout Center at 120 St. Anthony Street in Preston.
