LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - News 19’s Amy DuPont and Mark Bronson were recognized today for their stories on Gundersen’s volunteer service in Ethiopia.
They received the award from Gundersen Health System and Gundersen Global Partners for bringing attention to the health needs and well being of the global community.
“I think it just shed more light for our community to show there are volunteers from this area that are spending their own money to go to places and provide care and provide help and provide hope,” said Michael Richards, Executive Director of External Affairs at Gundersen Health System. “And I think that’s something that needs to be promoted more and I think WXOW and Amy DuPont have done a nice job with this story on Project Mercy.”
Richards said he hopes the report will encourage more people to volunteer and donate to Global Partners.
